Devious Ducks

The typically lackadaisical ducks at City Lake park were VERY hungry yesterday. Feeding them is one of Kiersyn's favorite activities but one goose was particularly impatient which led to her yelling "That duck PECKED me! I wanna go home."

Getting in the Spirit

It's hard to get in the spirit when it's still so warm outside but we're trying!
hmmm....

Last year Danley's hands nearly froze putting up the lights... this year? Shorts.

Haven't wrapped a thing!

Thanksgiving 2012

Kiersyn came down with a fever, cold and an ear infection just in time for Thanksgiving. Sick and a bit overwhelmed by the 33 other people joining us at Danley's parents house made for a challenging holiday for little K but we enjoyed the time with family nonetheless. Here's a few highlights of our time in Austin.

Sweet Songstress

Kiersyn has become quite the little singer. She jams along to the radio and surprises us singing along with songs we didn't even know she knew! She makes me sing song after song after song and says "more songs mommy!" ... I'm running out of things to sing!

Starting School

In October, Kiersyn went to Dayschool for the first time. The goal is for her to go regularly enough for me to substitute teach half days on Tues/Thurs. I'm very grateful that it can work out how it does - Danley can drop her off at 9am, see her at lunch (11:25) and bring her home after she eats. Which means she's only without one of us for a little over 2 hours and that helps this mama (who had always imagined being a stay at home mom 24/7) feel a little better. She also seems to enjoy it, as she gets really excited when we tell her it's time for school. She has already brought home a few new phrases like "hello friends!" and the not nearly as cute "this mines" (yes, with an "s"...).

First Memory Verse

One of Kiersyn's first attempts at her memory verse. I had only sung it with her 3 times! Don't listen to my terrible singing. The song goes "I can do all things, all things, all things. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Phillipians 4:13."

Ready for Fall Festival!

Let's go!

We'd been there 3 minutes when she decided she had to check out her loot.
Already digging into the "candy"... don't tell her pretzels aren't candy.

Summer Fun

As you can see in the video, this past week Uncle Skyler visited and brought a gift for Kiersyn that she's pretty in love with - the Leapfrog Jr.
Little paleontologist
We also visited the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science Children's Museum. It wasn't exactly all we had hoped but Kiersyn had fun despite the fact that it was crawling with LOTS of other kids. Her favorite part was a giant rock pit where the kids could uncover bones that we had to drag her away from. She also got to "milk" a cow (fake, plastic cow and the "milk" was water).

Milking the cow!
Chickens!

She loved ROARing at the big animals.

4th of July - We actually really celebrated on the 3rd. We took Kiersyn swimming at her KK's house and then went to Addison for Kaboom Town. Luckily, my mom and I discovered a place to park last year that seems to be relatively undiscovered so we were able to avoid the half a million strong crowd and had plenty of room for Kiersyn to wander around while we tried to keep her awake. She made it though and really enjoyed them - oohing and aahhing in surprise.

What? These don't go?

She wanted to swim by herself. on her own. no one touching her.

Success! There they are!
